Earlier this year ASCD conducted their first ever Healthy School Communities Virtual Conference May 10th -13th 2011

This provided an opportunity to share health and learning stories from across the U.S. and Canada.  

Topics included:

  • Aligning health and education
  • Improving school lunches and nutrition
  • Physical activity and Physical Educaction across the school day
  • Social, emotional, and mental health
  • Staff wellness, and
  • The Healthy School Communities Model.

Nationally

Summary of the Kids Go For Your Life Health Promotion Forum conducted 5th April 2011in Victoria. 

This forum covered the topic of 'engaging and motivating primary schools and early childhood services in health promotion' and was held with the support of the Australian Health Promoting Schools Association.
